So many enemies in the wilderness

So many fears in loneliness

So little hope, so much need

God chose some people

To walk with Him in the desert

With the Lord in the desert –

Where His power is plain and doubtless

Where His voice is clear and distinguishable

Where a heart can find nothing to long for

But Him

In the desert

Human souls can be more touchable

And He will whisper His words

Into their hearts

From the desert

He uses to call His prophets

It’s only by walking in the desert places

Of his own soul

That a man can become

A true friend of God’s
